Invisalign Orthodontist Near Me

When looking for Orthodontic treatment, choosing the right provider will guarantee you the best and most effective treatment available. If you want to have that perfect smile without wearing permanent metal braces then Invisalign is the best option for you. To get Invisalign, you will need to find an experienced Orthodontist who is trained with Invisalign. This treatment is a major investment of both time and money and you wouldn’t want to take it lightly.

What is Invisalign

These are the clear alternatives to braces. They keep you confident while wearing your best smile. Invisalign straightens your teeth using removable custom-made aligners designed specifically for your teeth. They are replaced every two weeks with each aligner adjusting your teeth eventually into the projected position.

How to get Invisalign

If you want to improve your smile with Invisalign, visit your nearest orthodontist or dentist and if not qualified, they will recommend the best specialist who is near you. You can also do a little research and compare your shortlisted options before deciding which the best one is.

Invisalign near me

If you are looking to get orthodontist treatment using clear aligners near you, you can do some research by looking for qualified Invisalign providers near you. You can also ask for recommendations from friends or people who have used the treatment before. Once you shortlist the ones you see fit, you can book for appointments and meet with the orthodontists for consultations before you decide the best option for you.

Invisalign retainer

Invisalign retainers help maintain the new teeth alignment after wearing braces. When the braces are removed, the next phase of retention which is critical to maintaining the work done is retainers. There are different kinds of retainers, that our orthodontists can custom-make for you. For you to maintain that perfect smile, you will need to wear your retainer as directed by our Orthodontists.

Fittings are done by the Orthodontist. In most cases, being fitted for a retainer usually happens the same day your braces are removed.

There are three types of Invisalign retainers:

  1. Hawley Retainer

    • A thin retainer shaped like a tongue, made out of acrylic in order to fit your mouth. This is the most common and durable retainer that is easy to remove.
  2. Clear Aligner Retainer

    • Made with transparent plastic that will fit your mouth and teeth precisely. They are clear and invisible and do not have wires showing. This aligner is not recommended if you have certain conditions like teeth grinding which will damage the retainer.
  3. Fixed Retainers

    • These retainers are not removable. The wire is bonded to the inner side of the teeth where it remains for months. We normally recommend this to avoid the teeth from reverting to their original state.

Invisalign Process

There are six stages of the Invisalign process:
1) A consultation with our Orthodontist as we have to determine if it is right for you. We have to consider a patient’s ability and willingness to keep the trays in for 24 hours a day.
2) Our Orthodontist creates a treatment plan.
3) Once you have decided to begin the treatment, we take x-rays and impressions of your teeth.
4) The Invisalign technicians generate 3D of your teeth and a computer model on how they will move to the desired position.
5) We wait for your aligners. Some adjustments might be required until we get the measurements right. It takes about a month for the aligners to arrive at our office.
6) Wear your aligners

What do the tier levels mean for Invisalign

Tier levels in Invisalign are the different rankings Orthodontists are given according to the number of cases they have handled. The more cases an Orthodontist has worked on and completed, the higher the rank they get. The different rankings are:

  • Preferred provider: An Orthodontist with at least 10 cases of Invisalign performed in a year.
  • Premier provider: A specialist who has treated more than 50 cases of Invisalign and performs 25 cases every 6 months
  • Elite provider: An experienced Invisalign specialist with more than 300 cases treated and performs 50 cases every 6 months.
  • Top 1% provider: Top Invisalign specialist who has treated more than 800 cases and performs at least 200 cases per year.

Invisalign Attachments

They are small “bumps” made of dental bondings that are attached to the tooth. They are mostly tooth-coloured so not easily noticeable with the metal ones being generally used on the back teeth. They are attached at specific points of the tooth to provide extra grip for aligners as they guide the teeth to preferred positions.

Invisalign vs Braces

Invisalign and braces all perform the same task (straighten teeth) but their different physical structures differentiate the two. Before deciding which one to choose among the two, you should first seek advice from an Orthodontist who will examine your teeth and determine which option is suitable for you.

Here are some of the advantages of using Invisalign:

  • Invisalign attachments are virtually invisible making them look better and less visible compared to braces.
  • Aligners can easily be removed before eating and a person can eat hard and sticky foods. With braces, special care is required when deciding the type of food to eat.
  • Easier to brush or floss teeth compared to braces which require special toothbrush to remove plaque build-up around the braces.
  • Few visits to the Orthodontist for adjustments, unlike braces that require regular checkups and adjustments.
  • Comfortable to wear and are only worn for 20-22 hours, unlike braces which are permanently cemented.

The advantages of using braces are:

  • Braces fix all dental issues that need correcting, unlike Invisalign which cannot solve complex orthodontic cases.
  • Braces can achieve a perfect result since they exert more force on the teeth moving them into position while Invisalign is limited to only a couple of teeth at a time.
  • Faster treatment time compared to Invisalign.

Invisalign Before and After

Since Invisalign is clear and nearly invisible, many people won’t notice any change once you have started the treatment. Having your teeth straightened without having to wear metal braces is a suitable option for people who neglected their teeth because of this reason. When you have finished the treatment, you will feel more confident with yourself and your smile in front of people.

How much does Invisalign cost?

Invisalign will set you back a bit more than normal braces will with and the price can range from $3,500 to $8,000. Factors that affect the price include the extent of alignment your teeth require, the number of alignments you will require throughout the treatment and where you live. Visit your orthodontist for more accurate invisalign prices according to the treatment you will require.

Do you need to see an orthodontist for Invisalign?

Yes. Before getting Invisalign, an Orthodontist will have to determine if it’s the right choice for you. You should also ensure your dentist is an Invisalign provider and has the required additional training and specialization that orthodontists have. Visiting an orthodontist before getting Invisalign will guarantee a better result since the best treatment plan is chosen for you.

Invisalign for Adults

For most adults, Invisalign is a more suitable option compared to braces. Invisalign helps a patient to get that gorgeous smile without having to wear braces. Adults can now straighten their teeth using this treatment which offers less discomfort and is easy to adjust to. If you visit an orthodontist during the weekend and get Invisalign attachments, only a few people will notice rather than braces which can be spotted miles away. With Invisalign, you get custom orthodontic care that improves your smile while still being discreet and easy to manage.

Invisalign Smile

Invisalign does not get in the way of your lifestyle and you will have the same smile (or better) while you are undergoing treatment. Since it is clear and almost invisible, the majority of people you come across will never know you are undergoing treatment to straighten your teeth and get your best smile.

Best decision ever!
I was really hesitant, to begin with, but I’m so glad I went through with the decision. I have noticed such a difference in my confidence levels as my teeth are almost straight and they were so overcrowded before. I haven’t had any complications so far and I am almost all the way through.

Worth It
The day I got my Invisalign I cried because It was uncomfortable, I was overthinking the way It looked, and my speech was off. I remember thinking what did I get myself into?! Flash forward to a year later, and I have zero regrets. After the first week, things became more normal and no one really notices them. You can see them, sure, but if you’re going to a big event just leave them out – the show goes on. Additionally, set realistic expectations. I did mine for an overbite, and could not be happier with the results, but I know a lot of that is because of being logical. I still have a semi overbite, but Invisalign did wonders to It and I feel so much more confident now!

6 Weeks in
I’m 6 weeks into my Invisalign journey and it’s just blended into my everyday life and routine. Initially, it was hard, but after a week or so my mouth just got used to it. I haven’t really had any discomfort since and now I feel weird not wearing them! I did have an overbite and that has already started to change, I can’t believe I’m seeing results so quickly, it’s amazing.
